Can someone confirm how heavy the traffic is on this road at rush hour when the road is fully open, please? I've been told that alot of lorries pile down it normally but they're all using another road at them moment because part of its closed.
thanks

It's not normally too bad. If there was a bit of traffic you could always use the diversion that's in place at the moment.
It seems that long since it was open that I cannot remember!
It is a fairly busy road but nothing compared to the A61 road going through Grenoside which is the road most drivers use (even before the floods).
The only thing I would say is that the junctions around Beeley and Birch House used to be quite hard to get out of at rush hour times. There were occasions when idiots would overtake here too which caused a couple of accidents. As far as I can remember there has only been two bad accidents here in last 6 years or so. One involved a motorcyclist who was killed and the other one was just before the floods. Both of these were by the Beeley Road Langsett Road South junction.

So busy enough at rush hour not to want to cycle along it to take the kids to school then?

Probably subjective.
The traffic can be busy but the 30 mph limit closer to the village does slow people down.
But the traffic is nothing compared to areas in the centre/south-west of the city.
There are also other routes to both Bradfield and Oughtibridge primary where you could avoid the busy roads.
