View Full Version : Registrar costs help?
honeyb35 05-12-2007, 09:42 Someones just asked me what the registrars charge to do a wedding somewhere with a civil licence, anyone know?
Also, if you get married somewhere other than sheffield, what is the transfer cost?
Many thanks in advance!
Not sure about transferring but we've booked the Registrar to come out to Whitley Hall for our wedding and its costing about £360.00 £280 for the service, £40 each for notices and £3 for the certificate
Hi there
Im getting married out of Sheffield, as far as I know there are no additional costs imposed by the register office.
The costs of the ceremony etc come from the area you are looking at getting married in, of course if you get married in register office there will be a specific fee but if they have to go out to you the costs seem to vary depending on the registrars office.
Hope this helps
craigpugh 20-01-2008, 01:31 we're getting married (civil partnership technically- dont know if there's a price differential) at wentworth castle, so the registrar is from barnsley and i think she said it would be 250 pounds. We have to give notice in sheffield and i understand there's a small fee for that, 40 quid each or summat.
XmarblezX 20-01-2008, 10:08 I have to pay 60 to give notice and its 310 for the registrar to come out to marry us at the hotel
Kaye2812 22-01-2008, 12:35 We are getting married at Bolsover castle, so using a registrar from Chesterfield registry office. It cost us £60 (£30 each to give notice of marriage in Sheffield and they said the registra cost should be about £220.
Thought I should tag onto this rather than start a new thread.
We have just found the perfect place to get married and have to book the registrar ourselves, we want to get married in Dec 09 but someone has said they are pretty sure you cannot book the registrar more than a year in advance, anyone know if this is true or if it depends on each office?
I don't think you'll be able to book it yet. You'll probably have to wait until December i'm afraid :(
Thought so, no worries, im sure it will be fine, it's not like booking it for August is it?!
Thanks
You should be fine, we booked for August (not Sheffield) and when we called at 9am they had 40 people waiting outside who had preference over us! We were very lucky to get our date and time.
sooz22, when are you getting married?
Kaye2812 08-09-2008, 12:42 We booked a registrar for our civil ceremony through the Chesterfield office and booked more than 2 years in advance... however... it was only a provisional booking and we had to confirm 12 months prior to our wedding date. Hope this helps.
sooz22, when are you getting married?
Leatherhead, decided it was easier to move me and H2B down South than 100 people up North!
charlotte_mc 05-10-2008, 20:26 Think ours was about £275, though it was for an 'enhanced ceremony' in Lincolnshire (a civil ceremony in a stately home). Plus costs of giving notice (£60) and the certificates (£3.50). I think it varies by county...
