View Full Version : Where can I buy a bed from urgently
TattyBear 04-12-2007, 20:21 Hi.
Our wooden bed just broke underneath!?!......:blush:Dont ask lol!
Therefore we need a new bed urgently. I have looked on loads of websites and they are ages for delivery.
Can you recommend anywhere is Sheffield where I can go tomorrow please?
I dont want a cheap place. I fancy a leather bedstead and a really good mattress as a xmas treat.
Can anyone help?
Thanks :)
geerarffe 04-12-2007, 20:27 Don't know what argos are like for delivery but they've got some gorgeous beds in. Failing that there's a warehouse place down handsworth that's got some nice stuff in. It's opposite the DVLA place behind ASDA. Not too bad on price as I recall and there's some gorgeous solid wood pieces too. Might be worth a look. Take a van though as you pick what you want and take it. Not sure if they do delivery or not. Can't remember. lol
TattyBear 04-12-2007, 20:28 Tried Argos, it says up to 42 days :(
I live in S5 and I dont drive so it has to be somewhere in the north of Sheffield.
geerarffe 04-12-2007, 20:31 I'm S2 so don't know of any over your side of town. :(

babyboom 04-12-2007, 21:20 There is a bed shop on Buchanan shops, if that is any help. Otherwise there is Barkers at Hillsborough.
Kazmerlin 04-12-2007, 22:04 Try Bushells, on tram route, just past tesco , need to get off tram at shalesmoor short walk to it from there :)
I have a silver steel bed frame with wooden lats (1 broken) that you can have for £10 if your intrested.
It's nothing special but will do you until you can either get a new one!
Its been outside for the last couple of days, pm me if your intrested!
There is a bed place at the bottom of Church Street, Ecclesfield, that should be fairly near for you.

Have you tried Atkinsons? My ma-in-law bought a bed from there and it was delivered in a couple of days.
In the meantime, I have a double inflatable mattress somewhere (no pump I'm afraid) that you're welcome to borrow if you're desperate. I'm near Hamilton Road, S5.
brianthedog 05-12-2007, 07:20 I just bought a new bed from the Natural Bed Company on Division Street (opposite the Green). Not cheap but extremely good quality and last very well - my old one from them is twelve years old and is still in use in my guest room. Everyone who stays on it loves it. The mattress is as good as new despite being moved, crammed up attic stairs, squeezed into a boot and generally mistreated! They do free delivery within a few days of ordering.
They make their owns beds and sell parts too - they may be able to replace the broken slats?
Try John Lewis - they usually have some beds in stock at their warehouse.
