..is dead

tried replacing the fuse...twice. The green light comes on the charger to show it is working, but when the end piece is shoved in the laptops hole () the power light on the charger goes out... confusing? it gets worse

When the plug is pulled out of the wall and the power is taken from the laptop, THEN replacing the plug BACK INTO the wall, the green light reappears.

It seems like the laptop is shorting the power.

Currently running on 30% battery, its going to die any minu-

deffo sounds like a short in the laptop, or the plug that goes into the laptop...

The bit which goes into the lappy, has some metal wire showing. The insulations around the wire has probs Broken, but theres no other metal touching it to cause a short circuit.

tbh, that could be it, if its right where the wire goes into the plug, it could be worse than you think... thats what it sounds like..

buy another plug from maplins/bardwells, snip the end off as close as you can... and put a new plug on (I could do this for you if you wanted)
