Is this the reason why Duke street was blocked off about 8.20pm on that day in question? I was on the 22 bus going to wybourn & the bus was made to alter its direction. The road was blocked by police cars, about four, parked right across, two at kerb side & two in middle of the road. There was also at the scene what I think was a firearms van.

i live at the bottom of duke street and the police car blockin the road was right outside our house. there was lots of dogs barking and we thought we heard a gunshot. there was a van parked up and it looked like police were hiding behind it. then abit later loads of police cars and vans came out of the next road up ( i dont know its name). we were wondering what it was all about.

What time was that Litha & did this have anything to do with the attempted abduction? How long did the police stay for?
Thanks

i think it was about 9 when they left ( i sent my mam a text to tell her about it and the time was 9.04)
i have no idea if it has anything to do with the abduction, my hubby said he thort it looked like a raid of some sort but dont know really. there were alot of dogs barking tho. do you know where the old VW shop used to be on the corner, well the street on the opposit side of the road was were alot of vans and cars came out. there was a bloke trying to go to work or something and the police escorted him out of the way. another bloke tried coming out of the little snicket a few doors away from our house but the police quickly shoo'd him back away.
i hope somebody knows what it was about cos its sounding very interesting.

That is a very good description of both man and vehicle, smart girl if that was down to her.Although I suspect there must have been a lot of witnesses, but at least she was wide awake to her danger, welll done.

i agree, very well done to her.
my daughter is 14 and very tiny i cant imagine something like this happening to her, it must have been very frightning for the poor lass, i hope she isnt to badly traumatised over it.
with this description lets hope they get the man very quickly.
