Can anyone recommend me a decent solicitor tu use for moving house. They vary in quality and price and have no idea which is a firm that will work hard on my behalf at a good price.

I used BEST solicitors on campo lane. Didn't seem expensive to me and I had no hassle. They sorted everything with no problems and kept me up to date. They've since changed owner so don't know if they're still as good.

I have also been recommend Ashton Morton & Slack. Anyone got any good or bad feedback on them?

I can also recommend Hewitt & Co on Townhead Street.

If you do a search for Ashton Morton & Slack I seem to recall mixed reviews on here with some good and some bad experiences.

I'll second that. Ross Ward was great last year when I bought my first house :)

HL Interactive on Pinfold St, they are great and you can track your case online instead of ringing them, ask for Jan Ferguson she has sold me two houses now with no problems

Related to this thread : A solicitor has suggested some strange sounding searches that need to be done, some for £250 each, does anyone know if I have to have these done ?
one of them sounds like a search for coal mines, which seems pointless in Heeley.

Also, roughly how much should a solicitor be changing me for handling the sale ?
