I have a photograph of my grandfather who lived and worked in the cutlery trade in the late 1800's - 1930's in Sheffield.
On the photo he has a lapel pin made with the letters "CE" where the "C" surrounds the smaller "E".

Does anyone know what the letters stand for or signify?

Thanks.
Geoff.

You could put it on photobox so we can see it.

Can't find a link to "Photobox" or I would.
My [img] option is not enabled to add attachments to the post (photos or otherwise).
Is photobox a part of the "Sheffieldforum"? or is it "photobox.co.uk" to which you are referring?

Hi Strix.
Managed to create the lapel pin as a low-res Avitar that you will see under my username. Does this help?

He he! That's one way of doing it!

I did mean photobox.co.uk, then you insert a hyperlink (cut and paste it's http..www...blahblah) onto here, so we can click it to see it on the other website.

Not sure, but it looks very much like a Church/Christian Pin to me.

Thanks for the suggestion CGKSHEFF. It could be, as it seemed important to him because he wore it in his lapel for at least two photos taken at 17yrs and 21yrs of age circa 1890-1905.

Could it be Church of England? Did C of E have lapel pins shaped like that?
I'm not Cof E so I do not know.

Geoff.
