I have aol broadband with Mcafee, and recently added virus protection now it seems to scan ok even finding a trojan horse and sorted it out. but I get messages to say it is switched off and the security centre in my pc confirms this but nothing tells me how to switch it on many thank's in anticipation.

ps I also have Stinger. my system is xp with sp2.:mad:

Are you sure the messages are referring to _YOUR_ antivirus software ?

My guess is that XP is whingeing that you don't have it's own AV software switched on. Click the bubble when it pops up, and look for an option that says something along the lines of 'I will use my own anti-virus solution'

Tick it.

If I wasn't at work, I'd give you a more specific solution.

The virus programme is now on. dont ask me how since I added Mcafee virus scanner some strange things have happened including very slow loading when signing on although I can live with that. :clap:
