Ok people heres where we can all share our beliefs, experiences and opinions on Ghosts, UFO's, Government cover-ups, u get the idea.
Personally i believe in another race of people out there somewhere that we just cannot reach yet. The universe is just too big to hold one race of living beings. Simple as that. As for ghosts, ive never actually seen one, and its pretty obvious that most photo's are fakes. So i dont really believe in this, and as for the government stuff, its possible they are hiding something ... why else would they keep Area51 so heavily guarded?

so everyone thinks there is something there.
My beliefs?
The universe is unfeeling, and doesn't care. If there was ever an organising principle guiding the formation of this universe, it vanished before the elapse of the first chronon. So god died in childbirth, if there ever was a god that is.
Aliens. possibly. But as a sage once pointed out - to search the sky with radio waves and telescopes is about as culture bound as searching the solar system for a good italian restaurant.
Aliens? Well. We are stuck in the solar system for the forseeable future. For as long as our self is inextricably bound to the vaguely mysterious flow of time, and flux from order to disorder, then we might as well forget about doing any serious looking. There's a lot of ground to cover.
I'm almost certain that other 'entities' exist in the universe, possessed of their own intentionality. To expect them to conform to some carbon based bilaterally symmetrical living tissue pattern is a bit optimistic IMO. To expect to ever meet them is an act of the highest optimism.

Phanerothyme - Very well put.
My belief: 'I'm me, I'm now and that's all'. Also the title of a Slade B-side.
But we all need to believe something. Seems that the Human Race needs to feel that there is something higher, something that will make sense out of our existence.
Lets face it, the things that had to happen for me to be sitting here tapping the keys are pretty mind-blowing. But as for reading any meaning into it or worshiping a 4 million year old bloke with a beard, no thanks.
I'll carry on believing that there is no meaning and feeling smug 'cos I'm not dependent on aliens, god, allah, shriva to explain anything - Unless someone knows something I don't.
