We had our works do at the Embo last night and what a shambels it was.

They crammed twice as many people in this year and the food / service was shocking.

we arrived at 7.30pm and didnt start to eat till 9.00pm.

The waiteresses were running around like Blue a**e fly,s.

I had a yorkshire pud dumped on my plate and waited 15 mins for the rest.

We ended up eating the puds & meat with no veg. What a Xmas dinner,

At £25.99 per head we wont be going back next year. :mad::mad:

We did but was told " i work for the agency " i think the manager got well out of the way.

Put it in writting and explain in detail how shocking the service was and what outcome you want.

I use to work within the catering industry and know how tempting it can be to make as much money as you can by craming up Christmas parties but its only greed on the part of the venue and for that there is no excuse.

Be polite but firm with your stance

You should have refused to pay. That would've brought the manager out sharpish.

I think you may have to pay when you book, thats what I have had to do in the past.
It's terrible, I have been to 2 works party that were just the same.
1st one at what used to be the Moat house at medowhead (Im thinking it has been re- named)
2nd at Tankersley manner.
I don't know how they can possibley charge what they do. Tankersley was 30 squid per head! :o

I'm afraid I wouldn't have gone if I had to pay that much myself.

I jused the manage the Embo, would never have happened in my day.

Im affraid we paid well in advance,and it was all paid for by our company. Thankfully

At Christmas for god sake

I went on a christmas do last night to the pickwick it was great. I used to go to the embassy regularly and all I can say is not a lot has changed then.

Just goes to show that price has little to do with quality......Ours is £14.95 and last year had people telling us it was far better than what they had paid £35 for at a large hotel chain in town for the company meal!
