As you may guess... This is the trailer. It looks... ...intresting...

Looks great. Hopefully it goes back to the spirit of the book and ignores that awful sixties film version that everyone seems to love.

(Stands by to be battered by irate fans hurling everlasting gobstoppers...)

Tim Burton definitely seems the director to do it justice, and I think Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka is going to be good. Gene Wilder was hugely over-rated in this role...

I have to admit the Gene Wilder version was PANTS! I was wondering when somebody was going to do a better version - the plastic trees and fruits were just awful!

Although, I dont think Johnny Depp is the right person for the job, ( should have been someone like Richard Attenborough or Sean Connery ) It can only be better than the old tripe version which did the book no justice.

Loved the book as a kid Panda but the Gene Wilder film ruined every illusion I'd had - it was c**p with a capital 'C'. :gag:

I rather liked Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. Especially the look on his face as he's listening to Violet Beauregard tell him that spitting is a dirty habit...while she's digging for gold with her finger up her nose.

Then he calmly tells her he can think of a worse habit!

Have to agree, the special effects were awful. But it's an old movie.
