Hi there to all you runners competing at Loxley on Sunday.

Some advice for you all.
As you are aware, parking is on the surrounding streets and from past experience there appears to be plenty of space.
Please, if you are coming there in a car, then please share. Potentially there could be 1600 vehicles containing 1 runner each. Fill the car and lets just worry about accommodating 400
cars plus of course family and friends travelling separate to watch the race.
Please get there in plenty of time. The race starts at 9-30, so please be parked by 8-45.
There are always runners appearing 10 mins before the start, complaining they can't find anywhere to park. Use Rowell Lane, which can be accessed from the top of Stannington, then down Spout Lane. After the race, leave the area via Spout Lane and avoid the inevitable congestion at Malin Bridge.
Please use the toilets provided. Don't have a c--- or a p-- at the bottom of the field in full view of local residents and dog walkers.
When you cross the line, move forward to collect your pud and please don't come back through the finish area. ( see my next posting )

When parking please have some consideration for local residents. Don't block peoples drives or make the roads so narrow that the bus cannot use its normal route.

And have a great time.

The weather forecast on Sunday is poor and I know from experience of running in that location that it can be a very cold and windy place. Don't overdress and dehydrate. Consider a long sleeve top and may be gloves, you might even prefer to run in tights.
If you are feeling unwell after the run, there are St Johns 1st aiders around. Get back in your car quickly, raise your temperature and get off home.

Remember your chip !! No chip, no time.

Sorry, but I won't be answering any questions re the race on the Forum at this late stage !

Thanks for that sanman ! Should have commented on that situation myself.
Please consider the locals, don't be selfish and park too close to residents drives.
Buses are still operating in the area. Don't park across from another vehicle and in doing so
decrease the road width to such an extent that buses can't get through.
Please don't park on bus stops.
We are only in the locality once a year and we are thankful of the support we get from the local residents. Think of others whose Sunday morning you are disturbing.

To you all, enjoy the race, running is par excellence !!

Will be my first time doing this course, really looking forward to it. Anyone else here running it? Anyone run it before, and has any last minute tips and advice? Also, does anyone know if the course is marked out in miles or KM?
