Southey Green Garage.....Elm Lane, Sheffield 5.

Up moonshine Lane, right at roundabout and 50 yards on right.

Use them every year. Always been honest, yet thorough.

The one on Bailey Drive at Killamarsh, just off Rotherham Road, just below Rother Valley Country Park. It's run by a lovely guy called Mick, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my cars, his number is 0114 2473700. Mick is such a super guy and doesn't rip off anyone!

Bikertec,

I'm a girlie and have re-built 2 Landrovers and a 1972 T2 VW Camper from wrecks, I think I have a good knowledge of cars thus knowing if I'm being ripped off or not ;-)

Janey Sorry didn't mean to offend I know sod all about cars except the basics, and I know I have been ripped of by garages on numerous occasions because of this.:( Thus I no longer trust any garages its just a necessary evil to me now.:suspect:

Bikertec - No offence taken :-), I understand what you mean, I have driven into garages in the past and they must have taken one look at me and saw the £ signs, I think Women especially get a raw deal when it comes to car service. That's why I made it my business to know about cars and carried out my first re-build 8 years ago, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Prior to MOT's I usually check my car. If a job I know needs doing isn't spotted by the garage I'll point it out. If they say a job needs doing that I consider to be unneccesary, then I'll ask for their reasoning.

Southey Green Garage has never given me this problem. In fact, they've done over and above what I've paid for in the past.

Hemingways on Whitley Lane.

They don't do car repairs (only HGV) so you know they are not going to invent jobs that need doing!

Just been there today for the third year in a row and am very happy with them

Apparently thats waaaaaay the other side of sheffield to me, but thanks for your help....I used to send it to a garage who would do the work needed and then pass it on to the m.o.t place......I do most of any mechanical work myself now. Good on you with your restorations, my girlfriend loves vw campers, im more a fiesta fan......ok i'm rammbling now lol......

DOT M.O.T. at Olive Grove do testing, but don't do any repair work; therefore, they have no incentive for failing your car!
