At the bottom where it meets Abbeydale Road. Officers are combing the street. Anyone know what's going on? In as much as can be said on here, that is. Much more tape round here and I might start worrying.

At around 16.00 hours I'm sure I heard what sounded like several gunshots, about five minutes later a helicopter was hovering above. though when I went out at 18.30 hrs nothing seemed amiss.

I just got stopped trying to get home too tonight. The forensics are there. Whatever it is must have happened in the last couple of hours. I don't like all this stuff happening around here :(

I'm sure it's middle class white people shooting each other again.

Rather an over reaction? Where would you move to - the outer Hebrides?

somewhere where I wouldn't have to deal with sarcastic goits, kids aiming fireworks at my cat or people getting shot on my street. :loopy:

Unfortunatly you'd have to move to the desert to avoid all those

I hope no-one was badly injured.

One of my colleagues lives nearby and saw it all cordoned off but at the time had no idea why.

My sentiments exactly.

@Gordie - you forgot to mention drugs. What with the raid less than a minutes walk from there, a few months back.

Thanks for the link.

I'd forgotten about that,
Come to think of it maybe a deserted island would be best for a crotchety old git like me where kids don't steal bits of your car if they haven't been welded on, some where I wouldn't have to constantly moan at people who can't read the notice on my door saying "NO MENUS" or have to avoid large dog deposits, a place where the air is clean and the rain doesn't melt the tarmac.

the outer Hebrides?

Naah. The Scilly Isles would be more appropriate:D

Surely you mean the Isles of Scilly if one wants to be correct:D

I do believe there is a place called Grimsby on one of the islands.

ahh a life free from vagabonds and ne'er-do-wells
