I'm moving house on Friday and have only just realised that I'll need to have the gas supply capped off at the cooker point (doh!). Don't suppose theres a corgi registered plumber out there who could help me - please (I'm in S20)!!!

Thanks

Its probably just a barenet connector which you push and twist to remove the hose, which in turn seals the pipe.;)

Removing the cooker hose from the bayonet is just a temporary measure to allow for cleaning behind etc.

If the cooker is being removed then the gas pipe needs capping off with an appropriate fitting.

You'd be surprised at how many bayonet fittings can leak when the cooker hose is removed.

Thanks Bikertec - but the hose has been removed from the bayonet and the bayonet fitting is leaking, so I do need a plumber!!

Wish you had read my earlier post

You need a corgi registered gas person. Please dont leave an empty house with a gas leak, however small you think it might be

Give one of us a call to sort it out

Thanks complete-heat - I did indeed read your last post, and I think that my original post did mention I was looking for a Corgi registered plumber - apologies for not reiterating it, and you can be sure I have absolutely no intention of leaving the property with a gas leak. I guess the purpose of my post was to see if there was anyone out there who came forward to say they could do it- rather than ring round a load of people to find they weren't interested/couldn't fit it in. Just trying to save us all time, really - it seemed so simple!
