Im looking to get a pet, I cant have a dog cos i live in a flat and im not too keen on cats either!! Anyone got any ideas??

Otherwise, I can strongly recommend guinea pigs - they're more cuddly than hamsters and do well living indoors, so long as you give them a safe place to run around in (kitchen/bathroom - somewhere with no wires to chew!).

My sister owns aquatic turtles. They're quite lovely and they eat tidy little compressed food pellets. They do smell a bit -- like wet vegetation -- when the aquarium water gets dirty.:thumbsup:

Chinchillas have heaps of personality and can be active round the place, not just stuck in a cage. And they're cute as hell and keep themselves clean (with the help of a tray of sand).

I had three pet rabbits when I was a youngster. They're lovely pets. Their urine's a bit stinky, but their poo comes in tidy little balls.

A rabbit will quite happily sit with you,or on your knee even,to be stroked & fussed,for ages.They don't particularly like being cuddled as such,but they are affectionate animals.
If you purchase the baby rabbit at a few weeks old,you can easily house train it,no problem.

As Steve mentioned, you can sort of train them to be cuddly if you get them young enough. A former co-worker watches TV in a lazy chair with his rabbit snuggled on his chest. He also trained it to use its cage as a litter box so the bunny just hops freely throughout most of the house when the family's about.

One of my rabbits was quite snuggly; the other two were more skittish.

We have a black lion-head rabbit,which is quite small,and it is totally house trained.He never wees anywhere in the house when let out of his cage.He will jump up onto the sofas and lay with us.

what you want is a tilapia butterkoferi, they make great pets, all you need is a large fish tank and your away, they are a stripy fish which grow very very big but have loadsa personality:D

A house rabbit would be nice sooz22 on here has lots of rescued ones and she would be able to match you up to a cuddly and tame one I'm sure.
Rats are also lovely animals, Mojo has got a couple of gorgeous baby boys looking for a home.

Guinea pigs are really affectionate and cuddly. You can train guinea pigs (and rabbits) to use a litter tray too, especially if you start them young. Ferrets are quite cuddly too, if you don't mind them climbing up inside your trouser legs.

I find that rabbits' are smellier than guinea pigs' and ferrets give off a strong musky smell.

Rabbits only smell if they are not neutered and their litter trays are not cleaned daily.

Males tend to be friendlier than females and much more affectionate....bucks take particularly well to female owners and can bond with them to the extent they follow them about like a dog (have had a couple of house bucks like this) and will sit on your lap of their own accord and groom you.

Neutering helps remove any 'anti-social' behaviour and will make a more placid tempered pet.

I realise you have a pair of piggies now (congrats) but just some info for anyone else looking to adopt a new pet.

awww bless we used to have 2 guinne pigs i used to love there squeeks there well cute i got so far down reading this and was just about to sugest guinne pigs what about max and paddy thats what id call em x

Budgies make great pets they are great company and can live many years.
hamsters sleep all day and make lots of noise at night and have short life spans.
I'd go with budgie of bird of some sort.;)
