Anybody remember a Rotherham band from the 60's called the Thunderbirds - after the bikes, not the puppets or 'fortified' wine!

They played rock and roll and had a regular gig at Rawmarsh Baths when they used to cover the pool to hold dances.

Anybody got any memories or stories about this band?

Thanks

Yeh I remember the Thunderbirds played mainly rock n' roll but what a sound .They were so tight and there balance was spot on .They could wipe the floor with most of todays so called groups. The bass was Ernie Booth and lead guitar I think was Roy Ledger

Ernie Booth's my dad! The Thunderbrids have kept 'rocking' through the decades up till the present day with new members coming and going and dad has been the only consistant member.

We're planning his (surprise) 60th birthday party at the moment.
With Clive and Jonny Silver coming all the way from America to "re-form" the original band. Other familiar faces from the ages will play too.

I was looking for quotes, stories, pictures anyone might have to help make my recreation of those early days as authentic as possible. Or help with other bands they used to play with or faithful groupies or followers.

Thanks
