With a few exceptions, I am a great admirer of Joel and Ethan Coen's films. I absolutely loved Barton Fink, Fargo, Blood Simple and The Big Lebowski, and have watched them so many times that I often unwittingly quote dialogue from them. Anyone else a fan?

Oooh... forgot O Brother Where Art Thou!

I loved "the Man who Wasn't there" (went to see it two weeks running at the cinema), but actually walked out on Fargo. "Go figure" as you colonials might say :)

Huge fan of the Coens (with no exceptions - I adore their films). Really looking forward to their next film, No Country For Old Men, which is out in mid January.

One of the funniest lines ever:

Blond Treehorn Thug: [holding up a bowling ball] What the **** is this?
The Dude: Obviously you're not a golfer.

I loved the big lebowski, need to get into more of the Coen's films.

My friend has Barton Fink, which is meant to be awesome.

The Big Lebowski is pure class. I love everything about that film.

I didn't particularly enjoy Intolerable Cruelty, though. Not sure if I was missing something, but it just seemed to miss the mark. Maybe it was Catherine Zeta Jones that killed it for me.

Barton Fink is not one I could watch repeatedly, but it's amazing.

Never seen Intolerable Cruelty... maybe I'll give it a miss.

The Big Lebowski is great. Love that film. Fargo isn't bad either.

Other than that though, i seem to struggle with their stuff.

I thought Intolerable Cruelty was fine. But you wouldn't know it was a Coen Brothers film, if you know what I mean.

Cant believe no ones mentioned my favourite - The Hudsucker Proxy:huh:

It also has Jennifer Jason-Leigh in it, who in my eyes can do no wrong

The Cohen Bros. are great. The Big Lebowski is my favourite film of all time.

This NYE we're going to a fancy dress party - I'm going as The Dude. Yup, the Dude abides.

There are so many things I love about the film I simply can't list them all here.

Big Lebowski:

Brant: "Mr Lebowski asked me to repeat that - her life is in your hands, Dude. Her life is in your hands!"
---------------------------------
Donny: "Phone's ringin', Dude."
Dude: "Thanks, Donny."

Never seen Intolerable Cruelty... maybe I'll give it a miss.

If you like George Clooney it's worth it just for the eye candy...

But as Code13 said, it doesn't stand out as recognisably theirs, really. It needed to be a bit darker, I think.

Johnny Cohen was a great pianist.

wasn't he the pianist on Playaway back in the 1970s?

A very talented man, I wonder what he does these days.
