I've been getting increasingly into this gypsy punk lately such as Gogol Bordello (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJlGutqFqfg) (obviously), Golem (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB7QP1YwJ-g&feature=related), Balkan Beat Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei4Upn5WAmA&feature=related) and so forth, just wondering how many others here are into that kind of thing.
A bit of a sub genre but it does sound like my cup of tea, i love gypsy music ;) I'll check it out :)

Gogol were one of the best live acts I've seen, walked away from that gig with a massive grin on my face and covered in sweat, which is something I don't normally do.
The spirit of the gig just consumed everyone there!
Gogol are playing the Leadmill. I think tickets have sold out tho :(
Gogol Bordello are wicked, one of the best bands at leeds last year.
Start wearing purple for me nowwwwwwwww!

I saw Gogol Bordello at Corporation a while back. Superb stuff. There's another band I heard from England that were great. I'll post when I remember their name.

I've been getting really into this scene recently Gogol Bordello (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Jv3b0VKec8) are a great entry point but there's much more to it that the punky side of things there's also 'balkan beats' from bands like Shantel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xVRDU8ZTgw), Buscemi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPa5mtTNWT4) and Gypsy CZ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdAerPeYGG8), Gypsy Brass from people like Fanfare Ciocarlia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MsWl7eCs_E), Boban Markovic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l6ONNhksDY) and Goran Bregovic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qg44qKSbsdQ&feature=related), Klezmer from bands like the Amsterdam Klezmer Band (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkWdn6Z4LWA) and loads of other irresistibly dancy stuff I can't believe I lived in ignorance of all this for so long.
