just waited ages 4 a bus (nothin new there) then noticed back of atkinsons both sides of the road was taped off, police were there and also the no 3 bu3 to millhouses...anyone have any ideas?

ye i think it might have been an accident of some sort as soon as it happened i was coming off the roundabout to go onto charter row and was redirected all the way back around

the bus was only one one side of the road and couldnt see any other vehicle, just strange taping both sides of the road off.

There was definitely an accident, which appeared to be on the crossing between Fitzwilliam street and Atkinsons just before the bus I was on got there, couldn't see much.

Sorry but that's all I know, and I'm not going to speculate further on what may or may not have happened

I was on a bus that passed this before the road was shut off. Didn't look too closely but from activity of people surrounding it looked like someone had been knocked over. Ambulance turned up just after I'd passed. Gave me a sicky feeling in my stomach. I really hope whoever it was will be ok.

im not quite sure but im at home and our housemate who i work with has rang and told me i belive police have been in to check our cctv and ask if anyone saw anything.

Yes, it looked a very nasty accident indeed. I came on it unexpectantly just after and there was quite a pool of blood.

I hope he makes a good recovery.

This is purely what I've heard, (so don't shoot the messenger) but apparently a van stood in traffic waved a pedestrian across the road and in time-honoured fashion, said pedestrian walked straight into the bus lane and got clattered.

Saw a bloke get knocked down a car/van tonight in almost the exact same spot! I just glanced up from the bus stop outside Middletons up towards Stokes Tiles and saw the red vehicle come across from the left and the bloke (was crossing from Stokes' towards the Moor) went on the bonnet (car didn't appear to be travelling very fast), he went on the bonnet on his side and landed back on his feet almost - and ran off! The driver stopped and shouted the guy over and they were chatting (presume checking he was ok) - I just couldn't believe what I had just seen! Someone get hit, land on the bonnet and get up and run off!!

Yep was a BT man in a van waiving one of the contractors over to have a chat... guy got swipped by the bus but even though it was painfull he was back at work within 3 weeks I was talking to his boss today...
