Is there anyone out there who can help me? I desperately need to move house as my landlord has decided to sell the property. Although there are many properties available within my price range the one problem that I have found is that many properties do not allow pets. I have a cat who does not go outside and is litter house trained/does not claw the furniture. I have found that many estate agents put a bar on pets without even consulting individual landlords in order to save the hassle of having to ask!

Does anyone know any pet friendly landlords/estate agents? Getting rid of my cat is really not an option as he is a rescue cat who was abandoned by his previous owner.

As you say the agents dont even bother asking

I got lucky by talking to a landlord direct - he had no probs despite the agent blanking pets totally

A colleague has a little house in Derbyshire he rents out
He says "everyone in the country has a dog" and allows pets
The agent he lets it with has 'no pets' on its description

Good luck

But at the moment it is possibly a renters market
Try asking desperate landlords, they may be keen to help you out
