I rather like 'I've Had the Time of my Life' by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes. Ooh, and 'Islands in the Stream' by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers too :D .

Not really a fan of duets but Fairy Tale of New York is massively better than anything listed on the poll.

Walk This Way by Run DMC ft. Aerosmith can probably be considered a duet and is obviously ace (the less said about the recent cover the better, how the **** are girl groups supposed to do a duet anyway seeing as every girl group is already chock full of vocalists chosen for their looks & malleability and sadly lacking in the kind of character or individual style that's needed for a duet to work).

Something's Gotten Hold of my Heart by Marc Almond and Gene Pitney, Sisters Are Doin' it for Themselves - Aretha Franklin and Annie Lennox are damn good pop songs and a cut above anything on the poll.

Electric dreams isn't a duet, Giorgio Moroder was a producer not a vocalist.

I once served Barbara Dickson a meal in the Tregarthens hotel on the Isles of Scilly 20 odd years ago-my claim to fame

They might, had we been talking about the 1970s.

What about Dollar though? Give Me Back My Heart, Hand Held In Black And White and Who Were You With In The Moonlight (the last one was released in '79). Cheesy yes, but these were great songs (think X Factor's Same Difference with mousy hair, short skirts and stilettos. And that was just David Van Day....)

The poll's futile anyway.

Everyone knows that Keith Harris and Orville was the best musical pairing of the eighties.

Come on now: I wish I could fly way up to the sky but I can't / you can / I can't....,:help:

Ouch. Almost as painful as Marc Almond and Gene Pitney!

I'm amazed that Glenn Hoddle & Chris Waddle's classic "Diamond Lights" hasn't made an appearance on here as yet.....

Surely Renee and Renato were in the 1970s, not 1980s. And as der Bingle was dead before the 1980s it is dubious entry in the poll too (although the song may not have been released until a while after his death I grant you).

The song reached no.1 in December 1982.
