I know Sheffield Forum has a For Sale section, and I have posted my car in there, but I don't think it's a wide enough audience. The problem is, it's not worth paying for advertising because my asking price has dropped to £250 and even advertising in the Star costs £35 - it's just not worth it. The car's definitely worth having and good for the price and so I expect some interest, as long as I can get it out there.

Where have you successfully advertised and sold a car from?

I'm tempted to just park it at the front of my driveway with a sign in it - can't hurt.

If it were a diesel I'd snap your hand off. Have you got any pics? I might be tempted to change my mind.

I'll offer to snap your hand off too. I don't want the car, I just don't like other people's hands.

On a slightly more serious note, can you not just stick a "For Sale £250" sign in the window and park it somewhere prominent?

Just don't do it anywhere too proiminent. There is a main road going into Southport that is just lined with dozens cars for sale. It used to be just the one-off private sale but dealers have been leaving cars there, blocking resident's drives and led to some vigilantes putting the back windows through and slashing tyres in some sort of bizarre 'revenge' attack to try and dissuade the activity.

Ebay just shafted me for £26 to list a car which went for £72... The buyer hasn't even turned up yet and I don't think he ever will
