Hi All,

i was wondering if anyone could tell me the best bus route to take from Meadowhall from the City Centre?

Im not bothered where the service leaves from aslong as its in the City Centre.

I also want to go on an articulated bus if they are still around in Sheffield to date ... it would be slightly better than what ive used previously on the X78.

Thanks,
Rod

Articulated buses are no longer in use in Sheffield.

The X78 is the most direct bus route, but there's also a strong case for using the tram (all right, I know, the tram is not a bus).

Other than Sheffield Interchange, the X78 stops on Castle Street, as do some other buses going to M'hall from the same stop.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive web site (http://www.sypte.co.uk) has full details of local bus services. Also try Meadowhall web site (http://www.meadowhall.co.uk) for transport news.

You mean the bendibus? you'll be disappointed.

They've not served Sheffield for nearly 10/15 years...

The FTR (which is an articulated bus)has been mooted for first, in Sheffield but apart from a test run or two around the city, there doesn't seem to be much news.

The most direct route between Sheffield and MH is the X78. from Pond Sreet bus station, out along Brightside/ Attercliffe, into the bus staton at MH.

The most direct route is to get a tram and you have the added bonus of having the chance to see me or one of my colleagues. You know where to catch it from rod, so I do not need to tell you. I guess the train is even more directer than the tram but doesnt cover the city centre that well.

the tram is the best way from town to meadowhall - but at peak times u can feel like a sardine as so many ppl squash on im not sure its always safe! the 85/86 is also a direct bus to meadowhall and sometimes better than the x78 as it uses quieter roads and runs just as often

Why is everyone saying the most direct route is the tram? It isnt. If youre able to get to the Train Station, get a train, theyre every 10 mins or so (if not more frequent at peak times,) cheaper than both the bus and the tram and takes about 5 mins.
