I used to know someone called Michael Owen. He didn't want to be a footballer, he wanted to be a chef. He liked all the attention he got though from his name, especially from the ladies.

Speaking of call centre funnies... I had a mum call up to change her sons name on her car insurance. She was in tears, he went straight for a deed poll change of name on his 18th to............. Luke Skywalker.

She was gutted.

I shared a couple of classes at uni with a bloke called Christopher Lee - I used to feel really bad for him, everytime his name was called out on the register, there was a lot of sniggering!

Mind you, he was VERY tall, dressed a lot in black and had black hair, so maybe he was related ...... :suspect:

we never get invited to the queens garden parties, my name altered the whole course of british history by alledgedly killing king rufus, and several centuries later, alledgedly,we murdered the two princes in the tower of london for richard the third, the truth is we did it to ensure a YORKSHIRE man became king of england and her dominions

I was waiting in the doctors once and a nurse came out and called 'Lisa Simpson?' :P Worse, I had a friend with me who whispered 'put that saxaphone away!' :D I had to cover my face with a magazine and pretend to be giggling at the problem page.... :P

My brother has a mate called James Brown.

A colleague at a former place of employment once spoke to a guy called George Foreman on the phone at work, he alerted the office to the fact and when he took security details I leaned over and whispered: "Ask what colour socks Mohammed Ali wore at the Rumble in the Jungle."

The next day I spoke to the real Sophie Ellis-Bextor...needless to say, the experience was somewhat less exciting.

I remember an episode of TFI Friday that had a guy on called "Harry Potter". He was middle-aged and quite grumpy, after producing his buspass to prove his identity he uttered the words that must have come to define his life:

"...and no, I can't do any f**king magic tricks..."

When I googled my name the only references that came up were actually to do with me. Quite embarassingly one of them was a dodgy photo of me from my first year of university on someones homepage :shakes:

In the case of an amusing name, it should be thrown out the window!

I once spoke to a "Miss Hymen"...I had to stop myself from asking if she was: A) A virgin and B) Planning to keep her surname if she ever got married!
