View Full Version : New Big Starbucks on Division Street
crystaline 01-02-2005, 14:20 What do you think about it?
It was previously 'Versa' and the boutique next door , now with the wall between broken through going to be a double starbucks.
6 Months ago Sheffield had none, now we will have 2!
noooooo!
I think the whole feel of Division street is changing - first Subway, now Starbucks!!
I don't really mind having Starbucks that much, I won't be going anyway, but I like Division Street because the shops are smaller, more unusual and often independant or smaller chains. Starbucks just doesn't fit...
I walked passed there the other week and wondered what was going on, may have to call in on Sunday.
Just before the other one got opened, i was complaining to my boyfriend that we didnt have one now theres two before i have been to the other, and isnt there 3 or 4 in meadowhall as well....
Anyone remember that episode of the simpsons when bart got his ear pierced, and the guy says hes gotta hurry up cos his store was turning into a starbucks any minute, bart walks out of the shop and the entire shopping mall is a starbucks.

I can see why they've put it on Division Street - it has the kind of 'young trendy' market that Starbucks wants to aim for and round there there's plenty of students and professionals

I know, I can see why, just wish they wouldn't!
Disco_Cat 01-02-2005, 15:10 On a similar note I saw today that the lovely little bagel shop on eccy road that’s done so well to keep open despite a KFC next door now has a massive Subway two doors down.

I've never actually seen that open, I presumed it had closed down.... Then again, i've only been going down there since October to uni a couple of days a week.

Wouldn't suprise me if it has. It's a real shame, still at least we now have the choice between KFC and $tarbuck$ in Sheffield.

I think I'd go for the KFC!!
The one thing like Starbucks I do agree with is in Meadowhall - the Ben & Jerry's ice cream stall. There should be one in town somewhere.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie <3
So THAT'S what they're building there. Oooooh no thats so bad. I live round the corner. Now I'm going to be broke because I won't be able to resist a daily caramel macchiato!
