I shall watch this match with interest to see McShane's involvement. I think he's a carthorse and trust he is soon dropped from the Irish team. Like a number of players dotted here and there, they masquerade as Internationals when I don't even think they are Premiership class.

Everton were great today Preach!

Good football, lethal infront of goal and Everton actually showed some glimpses of genuinly entertaining and nice flowing football!

Moyes for me is doing a great job at Everton, gradually improving them as a side, slowly but surely! After an average start to his Everton career, Moyes has yet again proved the point that; managers need to be given time to get things right and change things at a new club! Sacking a manager without giving him the time to establish his ideas, is not the way to go about things. Like I said, Moyes, along with Fergie, have proven this as both have been given time and now the benifits are coming to fruition!

Well done today Everton!!

McShane was poor. That time he swiped at that that long ball coming though and completely missed it! It's like the whole of our defence, lacking any real quality - no composure or technique, and the midfield left them exposed. I'm sure Keano can sort it out though, hopefully he won't buy any more championship players in the transfer window.

Everton looked good though (albeit with alot of help). Fair play to them. They've got a few good young, english players coming through.

So How come Keane still has a job? If Davies is anything to go by then Keane should go.
Realisticaly though I still say that Managers and Players signed at the start of a season should remain until the end of that season and Do Away with January Transfers. Let's get a bit of loyalty back into football and make teams work with what they have till the end of the season. Loans are ok for smaller clubs who are hit by injuries. They also help larger clubs develop young players, but this with larger clubs getting fed up with their "new toys" after a few months is not on. There was quite a bit of quality brought into the Prem this season and some of the managers are still not happy.
Sorry Paul but liverpool are a prime example. they brought in a lot of quality this season for a lot of cash. they now have to rotate more than most clubs and Benitez is still wingeing about needing new players. I bet here are a few Prem managers who wished they had his "Problem"

Nice to read your honest reply. I watched MOTD, from a tape on Sunday evening and couldn't believe just how relevant it was to my post. I'm afraid I can't stand McShane who rather cruelly was called "McShame" by one of the pundits! It isn't the player's fault if he is picked for Ireland or signed by a Premiership club - I've identified him as a drawback/weakness but if there is insufficient talent available, he isn't going to say 'No'.
I felt sorry for McShane at Burnley last season when he was incorrectly dismissed. It wasn't a malicious challenge, he was just too late, something I thought of his Emirates' dismissal.
At a set-piece of an Ireland game he wasn't goalside of the man heading the goal. As for running, he's just no pace. I saw him try a shot at goal in the Wales game and his body-shape was all wrong and he knew that - it nearly hit the corner flag. He is a scuffling, Championship player.
You know what they say: "Buy sufficient Championship players and that's where you'll end up playing". Dwight Yorke - sell by date springs to mind! I've watched Jones closely after the Owls couldn't afford to sign him and he looks worthwhile. Craig Gordon must wonder what he's let himself in for? I think Sunderland will struggle unless there is a quality injection and that costs. Take away two points of that win against Spurs and that would make it even worse.
It's not unique to Sunderland. It is always difficult bridging the divisions, and in other sports, too.
I think Derby are doomed but I suspect Wigan might escape which leaves Sunderland, Middlesbrough in the firing line, possibly Fulham.
Even Ray Stubbs was questioning his early season optimism for the 'Black Cats' is now having second thoughts. Dog-fight is the cliche that comes to mind!

Can see you're point Dude but the fact is, Rafa is under enormous pressure to overcome Manchester Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea and win the Premier League title!
You have seen yourself the crap he gets on this forum alone when results don't go our way etc! To be fair, all the new boys that Benitez brought to Liverpool are doing really well. Torres and Babel the two that really stick out as being a success so far! I think what Rafa is trying to do is get some cover in key areas, such as Centre Back. He may also want to replace a couple of players that he feels Liverpool have outgrown such as Riise and Crouch :hihi: (if it's possible to outgrow Crouch :hihi:) and replace them with younger, up-and-coming talent!

For Benitez to overcome the likes of Utd, he will need to be given the backing to do the deals he is griping about (Mascherano being the one that is frustrating him). Sadly, for some Premiership managers, the problems they have are much different with regards to relegation, lack of funds etc, but the type of problem that Rafa has, comes with being successful, and if a club want to carry on being successful and ultimately 'the best', then the owners have to back the managers whenever possible.
Benitez however needs to tone down his whining, otherwise he will be on the dole with no chance of taking Liverpool to the summit whatsoever!
