Verity Lambert, the BBC's first female producer, and the person responsible for making Dr Who happen, has died aged 71.

Her own company was called Cinema Verity :).

The elder stateswoman of broadcasting. She was one of those who actually moulded television as we know it today.

From the Naked Civil Servant to Eldorado. That's what I call eclectic. :)

Very sad to hear of Verity's passing. Many thanks to her for her pioneering efforts which provided so many of us with those most endeering shows. For me, have been a major Doctor Who fan for a while, am very sad to hear this. As Slade sang it " Thanks For The Memories".
