Studying the EPL statistics, the same few teams are permanently locked into the first five or six places, leaving the rest to scramble every year to stay up. Noticibly the foreign content of these teams leaves few British or Irish players in them. You could almost call Arsenal a French team for instance. The American Football League NFL has put a salary cap on its players list trying to create more parity, and to some extent its working. Young players are getting a chance right out of college, and even occasionally high school too, to play in the league through a draft organization that gives the lower placed teams first dibs on the most promising players. There is no relegation. Relegation is a good tool to try to keep the standard of the game at its highest level, but it is often a bit of financial ruin as well.
