Can anyone remember 80 Days Around the World with Wily Fog?

I remember him - he was that evil-looking wolf that was always trying to catch the roadrunner, wasn't he?

Yeah i think so, he had a big moustache and drove round in a helicopter.

And he kept setting traps involving dropping rocks on the roadrunner that he'd invariably get caught in himself.

It was Willy Fogg (not fox, or fog, sorry!) and he was accompanied by his friend Passepartout.

It was a mickey take on Jules Verne's "Around The World In Eighty Days"

oh i used to love that cartoon! :love:

it ranked in the top 3 of my favourites along with dogtanian and the 3 muskahounds and belle and sebastian.

There was also Mysterious Cities of Gold - that was great, I must find it somewhere to relive my childhood.

There was another cartoon - help me out here. Thet had a totem pole with a tortoise (or turtle), a bear and an eagle, it could come apart. There were two horses that could fly, a brown one and a white one. Does anyone remember what it was? It's possibly Ewoks, but I might be confusing things...

definitely not ewoks....but it does sound very familiar.

i might be mixing it up with the brave star (?) cartoon about the robot sheriff who had a gun that talked.

dungeons and dragons and thundercats were also firm favourites in later life- i had the whole sticker album :D

dunno if thats the right spelling, but he said immediately and so convincingly.

My friends got me a Brave Starr DVD for my birthday - it's unbelievable corny. Cringe makingly so. Maybe we shouldn't revisit our childhood cartoons? :confused:

Meh...good as all of those shows were, they don't hold a candle to excellence of Ulysses 31. Absolute brilliance, and unlike most great shows of our childhood it stands the test of time well and is still great to watch today.

Willy Fog was an inferior programme compared to Dogtanian :) and the theme tune was hideous as well.

Also worthy of consideration were Battle of the Planets, the Space Sentinels, Cities of Gold and Rupert the Bear: the hardcore porn years.

I actually have the complete series' of both Thundercats and Willy Fog on DVD! :D

And Battle of the Planets and Terrahawks - remember that?! It's the one with the noughts and crosses game in the end credits, which the crosses nearly always cheated on to win! :rant:
