Greybeard 01-02-2005, 10:04 On the 1855 map it was just about where Broad Elms Close is now, and there used to be a school called Broad Oak School where there's now a school called Broad Elms school. Why the change from Oak to Elm I wonder ? Perhaps the common Oak wasn't classy enough for the folk of S11 :D sheffexpat 01-02-2005, 10:46 Where is Broad Elms ?[I ought to know , but don't] . The only reference to Broad Oaks I've come across ,other than the one mentioned, was that there used to be a street called Broad Oaks , ran off Staniforth Road , quite near the Attercliffe end.
