Does anyone know when the few shops in the city centre stay open a bit later than 5.30pm for 'christmas shopping' ?

I can't find any info about this, it's usually a wednesday, there's nothing more festive than wandering around the half closed down shops in the dark wondering if your going to get mugged.
Last year was particularly wonderful as we stood watching grown men steal santa chocolates in Poundland.

So, does anyone know when this seasonal splendour is due to start this year?

Walked past Debenhams today and they are open til midnight today and tomorrow.
I feel sorry for the staff to be honest.

Don't, at least they're in the warm and light! lol

Seriously it is usually pretty abismal, most staff try and throw you out of the stores about an hour before they're due to close, and you actually get excited to see Poundland open, because nothing else after Debenhams is as you go down the Moor.

Fargate isn't as bad but again limited choice really store-wise, and you can't help wondering why you aren't in the safe,warm, well lit atmosphere of Meadowhell as you stumble over the paving stones.
