I bought a Boom PSX - PC USB converter. So I can use Playstation controller on my computer

It worked fine when i received it (from lik-sang.com) but after getting a few new computer bits, fitting it all in a new case, wiping my hard drive and re-installing windows it doesnt work. When I plug it into the USB port, a bubble pops up that says 'USB device not recognized'.

It didnt come with a driver and as far as i can remember it worked as soon as i plugged it in the first time around. I am running on XP.

any help or ideas? i use it ALL the time

p.s. the only thing i havent yet done is install service pack 2. but i cant see this being the problem.

Have you tried all the USB ports on your machine?

I have a similar problem when I use the front ports on my machine, but the ones at the rear on the motherboard are fine.

Is it the same as this:

http://play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=PC&title=114167

?

If so it definatly comes with a driver cd. I have the driver here if you need it (I can let you download it from me - its only a couple of mb). Not sure if its the same thing though?

it is in a folder on my desktop but i dont seem to be able to search from the usb `unknown device' and it actually says `this device is working properly' on the add hardware wizard.

Is there an *.inf file? If so try right clicking on it and selecting install.
