And does this / should this form a basis for team selection?

Any coach/manager worth his salt would tell you that you should do what the opposition least wants you to do...

and on that basis who should he choose?

Theo walcott his pace and directness would cause havoc.

As a Defender the worst thing you want is a player coming at you with pace, although i wouldnt fancy my chances against Crouchy in the air i would rather deal with height than pace

The ball always hits him on the shoulder, because he's too tall.

I suppose it depends how tall you are at my current height (5,8) I'd have to say I wouldn't fancy my chances against Crouchy. As growler said Theo Walcott would definetly be a handful, put him and Crouch together the defenders wouldn't know what had hit them

Well, it's a moot point. Since we only need a draw, we won't be attacking anyway; we never do in this position. Doesn't matter what team MacLaren picks; doesn't matter what he tells them to do; the players know in their hearts that "Croatia 0" sees them through, so they'll spend 90 minutes defending.

The question is, will Croatia score early enough to give us time to rearrange things and try to get back in the game?

Yeah he did one useful thing, but the rest of the time he was crap.

Constantly headed the ball back to the opposition, watch the game again- you'll see.

And 'certain people should be banned from posting about football'- sod off.

Given that he didn't have a partner up front, who the hell did you expect him to head it to?

When you are on about people who were really crap last night, there are people like Bridge, Lescott, Lampard, Gerrard, Campbell and Carson. Whoever voted last night and made fat frank man of the match, was never watching the same game as me
