Got a few friends coming up from down south - wanting cheap accomodation for 1 night only - cheap but not nasty - near to the city center.

They are not wanting to pay hotel prices.

there's a couple of travel inn's/premier lodge in don valley which are reasonably priced and you know what you're getting with those

There's a B&B/ hotel at the top of the Wicker called the Riverside Hotel which is pretty reasonable, it's nice and very handy for town.
