Has anybody come across any great places to eat, whilst on their travels, that allow canine friends to join their human friends?

I recommend the Taybank in Dunkeld. It's a great place overlooking the river, stuffed full of musical instruments which you're invited to play  (but I can't :( )

Brude particularly liked the roaring log fire :D

The Salutation in Perth is a hotel/restaurant that allows meals to be taken in front of their roaring fire in the lobby if you have your dog with you.

I think you can get a small booklet of 'Dog Friendly' holidays. When I had Cole I took him to a dog show at Doncaster Racecourse (for a look, not to show the hairy beast :P ) and they had these guides on sale there.

This site (http://www.dogpeople.co.uk/) is pretty good (although you have probably already seen this one Strix :P )

Thanks Tracie. I was just hoping for some personal recommendation, having been in a couple of places that had changed hands and the 'dog' info was then invalid

I wish companies would keep their websites up to date!

The best ones don't necessarily advertise, and this (http://www.doggiepubs.org.uk/index.php?29=on&columns=1&printview=no&leftpanel=yes&blurb=yes&supporters=new) would have you believe that dogs were welcome in the Crown at Totley. Not so, they are allowed but you have to stand a lecture from the landlord first  and the far-superior Cricket Inn, just up the road isn't mentioned.

A more un-PC user might have jumped on the chance to make a cheap joke there...

Thanks Kirky. Is there anywhere you would recommend yourself?
