View Full Version : 24 - Is it just me.... thunder_trou 31-01-2005, 11:59 Or is this the best show on t.v. How come the uk can't make a show like this. Jack Bauer is so ruthless it's unreal. Come on people.... you know i'm right. Sierra 31-01-2005, 12:45 It is the best show on TV. Never miss it. But then, I'm a big Kiefer Sutherland fan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiefer_Sutherland :) Sierra vidster 31-01-2005, 16:20 I would like to agree but the Sopranos get's my vote for the best program on tv. I just wish they had got rid of that dizzy woman (can't remember her name) who is still working at CTU! :( . Deadstar 01-02-2005, 00:05 soprano's is great as well, i like the opening tune and the hbo noise, it reminds me of the show oz. 24 has no-stop action with an intelligence behind it and that is a rare thing to have on t.v. People will try to copy it but no else can play Jack Bauer like keifer sutherland, also liked him lost boys. zombie_lurve 01-02-2005, 12:52 Very true, 24 is by far one of the most compelling and gripping TV series to date (I find myself watching "just one more hour..."). It a fantastic blend of intelligent action, with high tech espionage I cannot watch it on Sky, for the sheer fact that waiting a week for the next eppisode would drive me insane. I am currently watching Series 3, and constantly finding my jaw on the floor at the plot twists and developments. It is credit to the writers where you find yourself questioning how far Jack is willing to go, and if it is justifiable. All I am waiting for is Season 4 to be released. The clock is ticking! Murph 01-02-2005, 13:37 After only 2 episodes on Sky I can say that series 4 looks to be the best yet! I agree though, the adverts drive me nuts too. Sopranos gets my vote for best TV programme, although 24 runs it damn close. Greenback 01-02-2005, 15:20 Without the adverts, it's not in realtime - they're an essential requirement :) Really gripping programme, but it does get a bit silly at times. I mean, Kim being kidnapped three times and chased after by a wild cat in the space of a day? I wish my life was as action-packed (though I could possibly do without the danger of catching post-pneumatic plague or a nuclear bomb going off in the city). Six Feet Under/West Wing for best programme. zombie_lurve 01-02-2005, 15:33 Credibility has to be put on hold at times, for their has been the rare instance when I have found myself questioning how it takes them four minutes to leave one building and enter another on the the other side of town in four minutes.... fleecemeece 03-02-2005, 12:20 The Shield is also an excellent US series and deserves watching. Go out and buy series 1 and 2 on DVD- I guarantee you will be hooked. I can't believe this show rarely gets a mention. IMO it is way better than The Sopranoes which can be tedious and drawn-out at times. The Shield is quick/snappy with lots of action yet it remains intellgient with clever storylines and good characters. Vic Mackey rules!! Snook 03-02-2005, 12:24 I just can't get into 24 on tv, but I am determined to sit down with the box set and check it out. |
