Hi

Writing from Australia. I have come across a 1917 edging tool (?) with the inscription "C.T.Skelton&Co 1917".

It also has a stylised 'S' on it ? Could be Skelton insignia.

It is in excellent condition and I am just trying to find out more about it.

It has a wooden handle around 2' long - with a turned thread at the tip.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Try using photobucket, so we can see it!

Edit: or photobox (http://www.photobox.co.uk/static/frontshare.html)

and a picture of the factory (http://www.picturesheffield.co.uk/cgi-bin/hpac.pl?_cgifunction=form&_layout=picturesheffield&keyval=sheff.id=3260)
And a fire at the factory (http://www.picturesheffield.co.uk/cgi-bin/hpac.pl?_cgifunction=form&_layout=picturesheffield&keyval=sheff.id=1243)

Hmmm, that's even odder in real life than the picture I'd painted myself from your description.
