I know it's only £4 but I don't think we should have to pay to see that Tate exhibition in the Millenium gallery.
The government did a great thing when they made museums free, perhaps they should extend it to art galleries too ?
It's generally free to get into the actual galleries - certainly at Tates Modern, Britain and Liverpool anyway, and you can see a load of stuff for nothing. But yes, you do usually pay for special exhibitions (of which I assume this show is one).
Indeed National Museums are free, which is a good thing.
At the Millenium Galleries all the permanant exhibitions do not charge to go in, however the special touring Tate exhibition, which is one room of the place, does charge, I guess due to the higher operating costs involved. The charge made isn't excessive, and at the end of the day if they made it free it would require a subsidy from the taxpayer, which at the end of the day, is you and I!
But I don't mind subsidising this kind of thing, if it means more people will get to see it.
