anyone remember it it was just along from the rose and crown pub now a carpet shop i think.i used to go around 1981/82 ish,i'd never tried curry before but after visiting the shizan i got hooked.

We used to go down to the one at the other end of Retford Rd, that is now the Koh i Noor,(can't remember the name) I can't believe we didn't know about the Shizan.

Was it the Indus ?

thats like up at the Lajawab at handsworth, they are really nice and are great with the kids, my youngest even got some free indian ice cream :clap:

yes me owd muka kirky i remeber it we go to the al hameer cross the road from the tool hire shop gr8 curries try the house special mmm nice got me hungry now i will have to nip out an get get 1 lol:D

when we meet up for that pint remind me to tell you a funny story about the zeenat,its to long to type but it involves a 18 year old with no money,a 20 quid bill and a wrestler:blush: :blush:

Latha's perfectly right about the Lajawab at Handsworth. We've ben 4 or 5 times and each time they've been lovely with the kids and nothings too much trouble. Slighly unusual menu too.
Safe parking as well
