I do think Zak that legal graffiti sites spoil what is in essence a good law breaking activity. I for one support the graffiti (ers) and also support the (Band, Banned) Ban.

Don't ruin it by putting it in a gallery or making it acceptable to our more hard right forumers

How can any law breaking activity be considered as "good"?

Lets just say you were savagely beaten by a gang of graffiti spraying youths who you had discovered defacing your kitchen window with the phrase '**** cock t020'. Now technically it is breaking the law.................................

I think that kind of remark says more about you and your argument (or lack thereof) than it ever will about me.

Would you advocate this behaviour miniminch? Cos if so, that's as TWISTED as me saying I'd cripple a 'defacer' on the other thread!!

if you look above the old kentucky at broomhill there is some wonderful examples of modern street art!
and i also think that graffiti should only be painted in suburban middle class areas.
i empty my ashtray everytime i go up eccy. road

Why? Such behaviour is selfish, inconsiderate and smacks of you having a huge chip on your shoulder.

Smoking weed only damages the person doing the crime, not other people. Graffiti defaces peoples' property. We've been through this in the other thread - are you really this thick or is it an act?

bigzac try sharrow basket ball courts just off london road, some good stuff there, skate parks are legal but most the stuff gets damaged with in a couple of days

i dont think any of you understood the question, he asked :

hi does any one know of anywher in sheffield weer it is actually legal to graffiti thanx zak!!

and you answered :

hi does any one mind if i go round sheffield spraying all over your houses ?

two different questions, read carefully.

they are doing far less than smokers, dog walkers or drivers to your precious community. FFS you nazis won't be happy until all the sane rational people are behind bars and the world would truely belong to the narrow minded, scared, government puppets. Living in their pristeen graffitiless world with corporate adds on every wall for **** you dont use OR need. But its ok to be force fed like ****ing french geese because the ****ers with the pipe down your bitter and twisted gullets have have the money to pay for it. Its ok that they have got that money by clubbing to death some little brown babies on a beach in thailand - but thats ok as long as they are giving cash to your govenment - which they will spend on your behallf on ****ing weapons or inflating the ecconomy so you will never get to see what a **** up they have made.
But thats ok as long as anyone with any desire to change their environment, anyone with enough balls to truely express themselves in the only way they can, are behind bars, being paid for by you narrow-minded tax payer who pays his taxes and votes for these con artists so that they can keep all of the good people housed at her majesties pleasure. The government won't argue with that because they too secretly want all the enlightened people behind bars because they won't vote for their amoral activities and free and good ideas might unbalance the status quo and affect the mind of the few of you who have any scrupples left.
But the govenment hadn't realised the power of the imagination and the imprisoned creative warriors devise unstoppable plans. They paint the inside of the cells on card so the guards think that everything is calm while the graffiti artists dig furiously and escape under the wire.
The populace only realise something when a huge freedom symbol is painted on the side of a disused library. The curse is broken.............

To be honest i don't give a **** about graffiti - but i will challenge anyone that maintains the staus quo as if it is sacred ... as if it is a good thing...... as if the govenment and its laws has our best interests at heart ..... as if anyone in power cares about the future of this planet .... as if your ugly brick buildings are made any more ugly by paint ........ as this is a real issue in light of the global catastrophes that await us because of the evil ****ers who advertise their new cars - clothes - and all the other pointless things that are superflous to our happiness .... as if ...as if ..... as if... when they start writing poems on the walls i might listen to your aguments about defacing your property - your property that doesnt exist by the way.
So bang your head against a brick wall - some of the paint might rub off on your head - it might spell 'fool' when looked at in a mirror........ it might poison your mind.....................

 Quite! I seriously think the guy (?) has some issues in that brain that need addressing.

Despite the foul languaged rant he subjected us all to, he still misses the main point about individual people (not government, not corporations) having the right to not have their property interfered with, be it in the name of "art" or otherwise.

I've read this but kept from posting as it was done before recently.
It's pretty obvious there are two mindsets here that will never ever agree.
I have to say though, as mad as it sounds, and though I disagree with some of his other views, I'm with Miniminch on this.
The day we become a race of people who play everything by the rules and do as were told, is the day life ceases to be interesting and therefore not worth living.
Grafitti is just a symptom (which is understandably undesirable to some) of something much bigger and very important.
