Hi all
Hope someone can help here!
I went on the BBC website & wanted to play something back, like a footy interview.
The Windows Medial player came up & was followed by a 'ding' & a small window saying the followng:-

MMSYSTEM281 file couldn't be played, check or install a drive to support the link.

I know that for somethings on the BBC, like listening to radio, the Real 1 player is needed, but it says on the 'Audio Help' page that WMP is allowed for somethings.
Does anyone know what went on here & how i remedy it!
Any help, much appreciated.
Rom

You need to install the latest versions of the media players I think. The bbc radio player is very unstable and can be a right pain in the arris.

Hmm... it'd help to know what the link was so we could check it out...

The BBC are experimenting with different streaming technologies. They're hoping to perfect their own system, ready for the delivery of their TV archive via web in the near future.

There is (somewhere out there on the net) a codec for WMP that allows the playback of rm/ram files in WMP without the need for REALPLAYER (or whatever the spyware garbage is called these days)!

I can't help with a link I'm afraid, though I do have a copy on CD......(somewhere - 1 copy of it I think on a single CD hidden amongst over 250):(
