Hi, i'm looking for any history information regarding claywood quarry, shrewsbury road,norfolk park,sheffield as i'm doing a local studies project. eg. photos,what was the stone used for,year's of trading,why was it filled in,etc.i'm gratefull for any infor. many thanks.

It may have been a clay mine, there were quite a lot of these around Sheffield. If you check the censuses that may give you a better clue, people didn't live far from work in those days.

I would suspect it as something to do with the duke of norfolk
