I feel more and more every day the free world becomes less free and more facist.
I was listening on the radio and there was a guy saying 'the terrorists are like nazis we've got to do something about them and this act is the right way'
Duh?
Anyone heard of the reistag fire and the terrorist act of 1933?
It should be 'the govenment must follow the nazis in instituting extream measures to restrict civil liberties, using terrorism as an excuse. Similar to the national socialist party's act in 1933 written by Mr Himler, I this day propose a new act in 2005.'

Thoughts?

Listen we are used to this kind of thing and it will not end here, you can be sure that those who beleive in freedom of speech and movement will be finding more of their freedoms going west.
New Labour= new facists.

We have things going off which are not as they should be ,lets put it like that.
We have been told that party officials are liable to have their computers confiscated and what have you,I will leave it at that for now.

personally im in favour of having cc cameras on every street ,we dont have enough police to cover the city so this might just cut back on crime, and if the police need to check out my computer i have no qualms against it,

just so long as its accross the board and every one is liable to be checked out,not just certain political parties so blair can instigate a smear campaign on other parties just to gain political points

The world has moved on. George W is making sure that the world is a safer place and Mr Blair is helping him. Mistakes get made and as ever, the innocent will get caught up and some of the guilty will go free - for now.

If you haven't got anything to hide then why the worry? You can have a look at my hard drive and tap my phone if it makes you feel safer.

Are you saying the police have warned you ?...or some lawyer ?

Given the BNP's history of allegations of incitement, it wouldn't surprise me that the authorities might be interested in the contents of party official's HDDs. But unless your party officials are very stupid there will be nothing to find will there ?

But your missing the point here, this is about personal freedoms being eroded and I havent seen any other political party have their leaders arrested and the hard drives taken away.
I have nothing to hide but thats not the point is it?
We are getting close to a dictatorship and something needs to be done about it.

I have to agree with roy here, though I hate it. When will it stop? Does Illegal search and seisure mean anything to you? Did we confiscate sein feins computer systems? No, we wouldn't have got away with it and they had ties to the IRA who were actually committing TERRORISM.

What ever law next?
A law against 'Insightment to form a political oposition to the govenment'?
I'm not a BNP supporter but we need to recognise the sanctity of a legitimate political party no matter how radical their views.
I'm not going to stand up for everything they believe in, but I will damn well fight for their right to speak it.

MOD: If this continues to be a defence of the bnp then it will be merged into the bnp thread.

I think that civil liberties are far too important to be left in the hand of any political party and we all should fight to defend our hard won rights from who ever is eroding them.
