i hope someone can help me out with this, i've looked on the web but am struggling to find what i'm after. i saw it on the PC World website a few months back, it was something that plugs into your PC, enabling you to watch your Virgin/Sky channels through it. all i can find is dodgy looking adverts now :?
What you need depends to some extent on what you want to watch...
Cable, satellite or freeview?
i installed a tv tuner card and just plugged my aerial wire into the socket which is connected to my sky box - so i can watch sky etc on the pc.
my neighbour has a usb freeview box which he connects to his laptop - from pc world.
(might be obvious but check you open the correct pcworld site - one's the magazine and floods you with rubbish)

thanks for the help, i'd like to watch cable ideally, as i have a virgin subscription and heard you could tune in to that and watch through the PC.
this might sound silly, but do you need an ariel for freeview? i can't get any signal at all on the TV (in my room that is, we have one in the living room hooked up to virgin and working fine!) and there is no external ariel.
