After hearing a report on the news yesterday, I realised I was one of thousands of people who after requesting one ringtone to be sent to their phone, wes then constantly bombared with texts messages for which I had to pay (charges for each text sent between 40p and £2.55). Total cost for me approx £60.

It has taken me several months to finally get Singlepoint to give the name of the company sending these messages, as on the itemised bill only the words 'Text Info Service' are shown.

If anyone out there is havuing similar frustrations then it could well be the same company

Details of the company ripping me off are:

The networks should take note of this. The easiest way to stop this stuff is - get a new phone. And as the deals change every week, people are likely to choose a new network each time.

Thats good advice if you are not a business number, we have had to change our network- it has takes 7 to 10 days to wait for our number to be changed over, in the meantime, if its only a small business this could lose you money.

They're not linked to Phones4U anymore, apparently the two companies are in a bit of a legal wrangle over it right now. I'm still with Singlepoint but will be getting rid as soon as. Singlepoint contracts are no longer sold by high street shops, only by the company themselves over the phone.

I'm with Singlepoint too. Customer services etc. are very, very bad, but I renewed my contract and upgraded recently cos they just do have very good deals for free phones, free minutes, free texts etc.

Sigh

I was with Singlepoint for 2 1/2 years, and have just changed back to Orange.

I hate Singlepoint with a passion, I had so, so many problems with them, don't know why I stayed for so long! I'm glad to be rid of them. I found their customer service appalling, they just couldn't get things right (I had to phone them 3 times before they managed to change my address when I moved, delivered my phone to the wrong address etc) and I felt I was constantly battling with them (they made me pay a £100 deposit for my phone which I was supposed to get back after 6 months and it took 11 because they denied they had it).

They used to be a service provider for both O2 and Vodafone, but now they have been bought by Vodafone and by spring they are supposed to be fully merged.

I felt very mislead when I was first with them. I bought my phone on the internet (not phones4u or any company connected with them), and didn't have any idea I would not actually be with O2, but with Singlepoint.

Sorry Blackcherry for going slightly off topic and ranting, but please evryone be warned to avoid Singlepoint. Even one person at Singlepoint advised me to leave Singlepoint!

As for your problem with the ringtones, I hope you have got it sorted? Did you manage to get any money back?

Hello,

First off write a letter of complaint outlining the issues with your bills / contract.
Advise them the texts are un-solicited as you did not request them.
Send the letters via reg-ed post to Singlepoint / MBlox / Your Network Provider. (send to the registered business address)

Advise them in the letter they have 30 days to confirm reciept of this letter, also that you will be taking the issue up with www.ofcom.org.uk if no solution suitable for both partys is found.
Also that you would like them to advise you in writing what steps they arew going to do to make sure this is fully resolved and does not take place again.

IF they can not progress the problem any further ask them to send you a letter of deadlock (you need this to progress with ofcom)

Any questions let me know.

(spelling might be a bit iffy.... )

Hi all
I've not been anywhere singlepoint, thank god, but i've requested logos & tones before & made mistakes, maybe smallprint ignorance. "Mr Tones" being the site.

I got a logo from a site i found on Google & had a fiver took off me weekly with sent texts to my phone.

There is 1 totally free logo, ringtone site that only charges you for the initial text to send the number to bring your logo etc & that's called "Cardboard Fish"
Do a Google for "Cardboard Fish, free logos" & you'll get there, i use it all the time & is ok!
Cheers
