It seems a bit shoddy to me that Apple have stopped producing Win2k compatible versions of Quicktime.

I have just had to reinstall Win2k and all the bits and pieces and found that the version of Quicktime on the Apple site will no longer install for me. I had to download version 7.1.5 from here:
old versions (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=quicktime) (I have read 7.1.6 is last version Win2k users can use, but I haven't found that version.

Apple could be forcing me to buy a Microsoft product... have they gone mad

Try Quicktime alternative

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuickTime_Alternative
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Video-Players/QuickTime-Alternative.shtml
QuickTime Codecs [version 7.3.0.70]: required for playing QuickTime content.

I don't install quicktime unless i am using AVID ;)

7.1.6 Win2k/XP It's here http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/quicktime716forwindows.html

The Quicktime alternative doesn't work either. QT Lite appears to be the replacement for Quicktime Alternative, but again the only version I can find excludes win2k.

I will have to use the 7.1.6 version you have linked to.

I haven't used QT on 2k for a long time the only 2k boxes i have don't have QT installed except my 600tek Vaio.

Looks like the best we can do? QT Lite? Got a link Xp/2003/Vista only?
