View Full Version : Need help laptop reboots when connecting psp

hi all i have a dell latitude laptop which works a card reader or my digital camera fine but when i connect my psp it reboots so i bought a mains powered usb hub of ebay and it still does the same any suggestions would be very appreciated

Never even held a PSP!! At a stab in the dark, can you connect other USB devices to the laptop? Do they work ok? Mouse/USB drive/Keyboard/IPOD?
What model is the laptop?

try a update for your usb ports or even reinstall them you can select disable power on all ports when not in use to save power if you wish if not already done so .As for psp same here not had anything to do with them.

thanks for your replies bout my laptop i tried updating the usb drivers it said they were up to date i've tried a mains powered usb hub still reboots and i know its not the psp cos ive got 3 and they all do the same when it restarts i get a blue screen with white writing sayin fastfile.SYS

Try running Windbg to determine exatly what is causing the BSOD: details here (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35246).

This helped me immensely a few weeks ago when I was getting BSODs when I inserted a blank DVD - Windbg correctly identified the culprit as being Zonealarm...
