I should imagine any that your DVDR and karaoke player will accept.

kareoke are very funny files. there are 2 files the music and the text file .... i used to know how to do it but with out thinking cant remember...
but i do know the only program i could find was disc juggler that would keep the files together on transfer and burn .. also i used to back up on cdr not dvdr . :)

Are you sure they are DVDs?

Most karaoke disks are special CDs called CDG or CD+G.
They are quite difficult to copy because you need a compatible CD writer and software which is CDG format compatible. Most CD writers cannot handle CDG format.

most KJs nowadays use a laptop for their Karaoke files & they are in a mp3+g format, which means they can burn them to a normal cd
with the right program

you have to have a cd burner that can read & write the special CDG
tracks A TDK Cyclone is what I used + Disc Juggler, lots of cd
burners can read the tracks but cannot write them,
look at the specs on cd burners & get 1 that does both, the same probably applies to dvds if they are CDGs

Well, they are all wrong...you can use ANY dvd writer - all it takes is the appropriate software.

MP3 Toolz and Daemon tools will do it......BUT, as "muddy coffee" stated, it can be run from a pc or laptop in CDG format even easier....

I disagree, I had to put an old CD writer back in to make it work.

Right,
Im still having trouble, I havent even got round to using blank Cds yet, when its doing the CD image with Nero7 it gets to about 70% then just stops.

I then tried with CloneCD and it gets to about 60% then says bad sectors and stops.

It does this with my PC and my laptop, It also does it with all the 50 Karaoke discs Im trying to backup.

Any more Ideas what I can try?

It sounds to me like your writer cos i found all the others will read and write no problem but they seem to leave sumat out couldnt say what unless i can get intouch with mate.

ok try this in juggler go into advance options tick the ignore all errors tick rw cd+g im sure theres another option as well but cant think maybe raw read and write cant find mates number if you do call for this writer i can point his house out to you though.

terminator

just been doing a bit of testing
open disk juggler
select file menu new menu select the copy cds and dvds ok insert cdg now go to advance settings select rw cd+g select raw read and write click on select source destination tab drop the write speed down slower the better now click start should now read cdg insert cd after read insert blank . cdg Should now be created.
If that dosnt work tick the ignore errors and if that fails you need to replace that writer
Can asure you that works.

when burning with nero theres an option in cd copy to "ignore errors" i know you had to use this for burning playstation games as they had built in eorrors to thwart copying.

just noticed my nero....6.6.6 in cd copy has an option for kareoke cds????
