Yes, I read a thread on here a while back confirming that it was due to close. Have a search and you might find the relevant thread and more information
Not sure which bike shop you mean but "TheBikeShop" on Woodseats closed down on Jan 17th :( .
[EDIT]
Read the thread title again and now feel like a dimwit!.
My nan lives around the corner its been closed for a while now along with the babycare centre i wonder if the lease on both of them has expired !!
thanks....
it wasnt that long since i boaght something in there,
mind you it had been going downhill (pardon the pun) wlth the standard of the bikes for a while !-)
i remember being left outside of the place in my pram while my mom did the shopping (when it was the grocery store)back in the early 70's,

i knew it was closing, and they didn't advertise it before x mas so i think its disgusting really, people that have bought bikes from there and have prob's where do they go now... they cant take them back. The same person owned the baby shop too.. i think they had just had enough and retired but still not fair..
Pistol Pete 29-01-2005, 11:06 It was the main Raleigh shop in Sheff when I used to live up that way.
Great shop and a shame if its closed.
I got my first bike from there as a kid. I remember the first time I rode it in Longley Park without the need for stabilisers!
Hey, and several scars and broken bones later I'm still riding (occasionally)!

PaulTansley 29-01-2005, 14:20 Hi.
The shop was not doing any business so it closed just before Christmas.
I did put it on the forum about its future closing, maybe you did not see it.
The good news is that they still have the shop at Barnsley so any warranties you have will stand there.
misterseven 30-01-2005, 22:15 i think its great that this shop closed down,
the staff all had learning difficulties
they were way overpriced
the bike were rubbish!
good riddance

If that is true (the LD bit), then it's a real shame it's closed because anywhere that gives equal employment to people with LD's deserves to succeed.
Of course, you are talking out of your arse and are actually a pratt
they were actualy an ok group of blokes,
one told me if i was serious about getting a road bike then go else where !,
not many shops treat their customers with that much honesty !
ok the bikes were on the lower end of the market, but for all the bits and pieces ect they were pretty good,
i once asked (as a joke) "whats the most expensive bike in the shop ?" the bloke said "you'v come in on it" !-)
